IAMDL is working hard to finalize courses and curriculum for our inaugural Military Justice Continuing Legal Education (CLE). We are especially vigilant of creating the right balance between advocacy training and academic updates. Rest assured the faculty for training will bring combined decades of experience, and hundreds if not thousands of contested courts-martial under their collective belts.
We are vetting venues with an eye toward the middle of September 2018 as the proposed timeframe. With so many uniformed counsel taking “use or lose” leave and the risk of a loss of funding for trials at the end of the fiscal year, we hope to encourage maximum participation across services and ability levels.
With the projected 2018 amendments to the Manual for Courts-Martial coming out of the White House, it will be especially important to stay current and to know the changes that we believe also are on the horizon.
Stay tuned for updates to location / dates for IAMDL’s first Continuing Legal Education.
