Leadership

Jocelyn C Stewart, President

Jocelyn has been engaged exclusively in military practice since 2004. In active service to the Army for over eight years, she prosecuted military courts-martial for more than four years and defended them in uniform in excess of three years. Two years of her prosecution time was devoted specifically to special victim cases as one of the original fifteen Special Victim Prosecutors from 2010 to 2012. She was responsible for prosecuting sex crimes in Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and Fort McCoy, Wisconsin in addition to numerous reserve units tucked into the same geographical area. Jocelyn began her service to the nation assisting military clients in administrative military matters while serving as a part-time military magistrate reviewing law enforcement probable cause searches and seizures and command pretrial confinement decisions. Since her departure from active duty in 2012, Jocelyn started a private practice devoted to defending military members of all branches of the armed forces.

In late September 2015, Jocelyn re-entered the service as a member of the reserve component. Since January 2017 Jocelyn has served as adjunct professor of criminal law at the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Teaching new judge advocates about military practice allows Jocelyn to provide an outlet for her passion of raising the bar in military justice practice. She feels uniquely positioned to effect positively the up and coming generation of practitioners.
